Tenancy Deposit Protection

Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) Protected

View Properties Ltd (trading as View Properties) protects tenancy deposits with the government-approved Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS).

Why deposit protection matters

In England, a deposit taken for an assured shorthold tenancy (AST) must be protected in an authorised tenancy deposit scheme. Protection helps keep deposits safe and provides an independent way to resolve disagreements at the end of a tenancy.

What tenants can expect

  • Your deposit is protected with TDS within 30 days of payment (or of receiving it, if later).
  • You receive the required Prescribed Information and scheme leaflet within 30 days.
  • You can check that your deposit is protected using the details TDS provides (and the scheme website).
  • If you and the landlord cannot agree how the deposit should be repaid at the end of the tenancy, TDS offers free dispute resolution (adjudication).

Important - this page is general information

Full Prescribed Information is provided with each tenancy. This webpage is a public trust summary only. It is not a substitute for the Prescribed Information, scheme leaflet, or other paperwork issued for your specific tenancy.

For landlords

Where we manage a letting, deposits are registered with TDS as part of our managed lettings service. Scheme details for each tenancy are included in the paperwork we issue.

The details below are for the scheme operator (TDS), not View Properties:

Whether a deposit is held under TDS Insured or TDS Custodial arrangements, tenants receive the scheme details that apply to their tenancy with their paperwork. We do not invent or publish membership numbers or fee amounts on this page.
